CONNECTIVE ROPES

In this workshop, you will explore the art of connective ropes and the power of slowing down to connect with your play partner. The workshop is not technical, but all about creating a deeper connection. You will learn the basics of kinbaku rope tying, and how to use ropes to drop your agenda and focus on your partner.

During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Practice rope tying and connecting with your partner in a safe and consensual environment

What to bring: Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in easily. Please bring a water bottle and a towel or blanket. We will provide all necessary equipment and materials for the workshop.

Food and drinks: We will provide water, tea, and some snacks during the workshop.

Accessibility: The boathouse is located on the water below street level and is therefore not wheelchair accessible. Please let us know if you have accessibility needs or concerns.

Do I have to do every exercise in a workshop?

We want to make it clear that there will never be any pressure for you to engage in any activities that you are not comfortable with. You are welcome to attend the workshop and choose to keep all your clothing on and refrain from touching anyone if that is your preference. Additionally, if at any point you feel uncomfortable participating in an exercise, you are free to sit it out. Your comfort and consent are of utmost importance to us.

What do I wear to a workshop?

You do you. You can wear whatever you want. You might want to wear multiple layers so you can take clothes if you’re feeling warm.

What do I eat?

We will provide water, tea, and some snacks during the workshop. You’d like to eat something specific? Please bring it yourself.
